Making Spiral Uplighters

These slumped uplighters were cast using the pot melt method as shown in the video.
The multiple castings (12 pots) produced works, which these uplighters were cut from. The mixing of colours is more chance than planning as it is very difficult to predict which colours emerge from the pots first, no matter how you arrange them. The reason for this is some colours have different melting points and even this can change according to what position they are placed in the pot. Opals and dark colours should be avoided as these will mask all other colours and prevent light penetration.
